This is not a Maltese bakery anymore.
So sad to post this. Not how I remembered it. I used to come here often before Covid. It’s been about 4 years since I’ve last visited and the pastries I ordered seemed on the stale side and extremely over priced. I left entirely unimpressed.
New owner…friendly…. everything changed. Cute place….. I am going to give them more time… to be fair
Definitely the owner or manager need some mental help take it easy you are not on Madison ave you are beautiful local place in Astoria
I visit this bakery when visiting my son. It has been bought out by someone else definitely not Italian. The Napoleon they used to have had a cream center and chocolate. The new Napoleon I got was with white cream. I was told there was strawberries in it, but there was not. All of the cookies had a graininess to them. I was so disappointed. I miss the previous owner.
Was walking by this very cute pastry shop for my fiance’s birthday and as we entered the pastry shop the owner or employee ignored both of us and kept his conversation going with his friend as if we were not the. We were not rude when we asked about a particular pastry , which, in turn, he did not budge as though we were interrupting him from his conversation. I’m going to have to say this, but we were a black couple. You can do as you please with this information but we will not be going there again and I’m so sure not every pastry shop is like this. Needless to say, we left with no service being given to us.
A beautiful, lovely, warm-vibe bakery with different kinds of pastries and desserts in Astoria.
Baklava was fresh and delicious. Felt just like taking a trip to Athens.
I recently visited Lelis and was thoroughly impressed! The ambiance is cozy, and the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The variety of flavors is incredible – I tried the strawberry and dark chocolate, both of which were rich and creamy. You can tell they use high-quality ingredients. If you’re looking for delicious gelato and great service, Lelis is a must-visit!
